So I've started. I started doing to do what I love. With not much formal training at this point in time. Honesty in first place, I've taken one photography class in high school and 2 years of high school journalism with photography training mixed in there. So by professional terms, yes I've had no formal training.
But that cant stop me.
Goals are to take college classes for photography. Short term goals of course. Max time is 2 years. I no longer like to think much long term goals because I can never predict whats going to happen in my life.
So I've been doing my own training. My taking as many photos as I can every day of my life. To improve on a good photograph and make it an amazing one.
I am working with a EOS Rebel XSi (a.k.a. 450D). The Lens I like to shoot with right now is the EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6. The dream goal camera right now on the wishlist is Canon EOS 5D Mark II Digital Camera with a Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS USM AF Lens.
But you gotta work with what you got right? Right.
So recently went to Seattle with my boyfriend Dylan, and a couple Kelsey and Jeremy to take their portraits. I have shot Kelsey before and I definetly love working with her one of the most. She is easy to work with and takes simple directions very well.
Her boyfriend, Jeremy was a little more of a challenge to work with in the sense that I haven't in my life much photographed men in portraits. Its been somewhat of challenge for myself. They naturally dont like to smile I've noticed and like to put on a stone face. The afternoon consisted of me learning to direct in small ways to men that they can smile, and no, it wont look goofy.
We picked Seattle because its a chill urban place and thats the kind of people we are. Jeremy was excited and his input was great for locations. Kelsey and I also agreed we liked the atmosphere and the urban-ness that is Seattle. How blessed we were that it stayed sunny all day!
On the ground, on benches, stradling steps and climbing high to get great shots. You know you love the art when your willing to be on your hands and knees for a great shot. Or in this case laying on the boardwalk.
Love the textures Seattle. Thanks for being so interesting.
You cant see their faces much, but still cool that I somehow managed to fit that BIG space needle in my tiny lens. How cool.
Gonna need a better lens...
