I have known Alana since 6th grade, at Ford Middle school in Tacoma. She always lived about 6 min away from my house. Alana and I started FP together and spent the four years seeing each other more and more in similar classes. Finally we were reconnected to our very similar passion for photography and journalism. We took two high school trips together, one to San Fran and one to Denver. Alana started college in Bellingham and I stayed here in Tacoma but even so with Distance we stayed close friends and in good contact. I remember one summer her talking to me about this guy she had met while working one day. He was considerably older than her, so she was a little apprehensive about talking to him a lot, or possibly going out.
But as years past they grew more and more and now are together. Rickey just spent a term over in Iraq, fighting for the things that we take for granted every day. Alana's wish was for them to have pictures taken together so she would have something while he was over there, but unfortunatly it never happened.
We just spent last weekend together at the Taste of Tacoma and I had brought my camera, against not wanting to because of the weight and not wanting to lug my camera bag along with me the entire day. We stopped to listen to one of the live bands and this is what I captured of them.
I love Alana with all my heart and I love that she is happy with someone who is so perfect for her.
